Rising star Leslie Lewis drops by to talk about her key role in With Child, an indie gem of a film nominated for Best World Showcase at the 2015 SoHo International Film Festival. She will also discuss her other acting experience and projects. Her film credits include: Dead Broke, Starving Hysterical Naked, Almost in Love, The Better Man, Chaos Theory, Area Q, and Locked in a Garage Band. However, Leslie is probably best known for creating and starring in Miracle in Rwanda, a one-woman live show based on the life of Immaculée Ilibagiza, who survived the Rwandan genocide in 1994. Over 10,000 theatergoers in six continents have seen the show. This talented actress also played Dorothy Dandridge in another one-woman show titled Yesterday Came Too Soon at the National Black Theatre in Harlem.

Leslie’s role in With Child is her first appearance as a lead in a feature film. This unique movie tells the touching story of a widowed construction worker trying to rebuild his life as a single dad while struggling with the romantic advances of his eccentric new employer (played by Leslie). "When I read the script, I thought it would be a good fit for my first film as lead producer," Leslie explains. "I love the message of the film: What we choose now affects our past.”
